I got this vest for my 45 pound lab mix and the fit is OK as a size large. It goes on and comes off quickly and the handle on the back is a nice feature. 0 I've used it maybe a couple dozen times over one season in the water and also as insulation for cold weather walks in rain and snow over one winter. The problem is that the stitching is marginal and I ended up having to re-sew the velcro patch stitching along the chest portion and also near the anchor points for the straps. Over time, one of the plastic clips broke as well. Good design but needs better stitching and components. ADDENDUM 5/21/11: I contacted the manufacturer and they replaced the vest for free. I had to return the small jacket as the listed measurements aren't accurate for estimating fit (19-24" torso girth and 15-25 lbs). My dog is 20" torso girth and weighs 23 lbs, but the jacket wouldn't close at the torso or neck. I reordered the medium size because it is a great jacket - the new design is definitely worth the few extra bucks. It's a really great life jacket.
